San Ramon Valley’s very own Jumpin’ at the Sun (JATS) (https://www.jumpinatthesun.org/) professional dance company delivered an outstanding performance at their fall show on September 27 & 28, 2019 in the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center. This was another stellar dance performance by JATS, set to a multitude of musical genres from jazz and contemporary to pop and rock and roll.
Co-Artistic Directors Debbie Saravia and Lindsey Saravia Neville are a mother-daughter team with decades of experience dancing, performing, and choreographing hundreds of pieces right here in our own San Ramon Valley community. Debbie also has been teaching all forms of dance for the past 30+ years and holds several adult dance classes in addition to her Artistic Director role in JATS. The amazingly talented duo is living a long term dream to build a first-rate professional dance company right here in San Ramon and neighboring communities. Their passion seeps through their choreography and is expressed by their fabulous dancers who deliver the most compelling and contagious dance performance.
“Artistry in Motion” was an exceptional show and brought tremendous enjoyment to the audience. Viewers were dancing in their seats as they watched an incredibly upbeat contemporary dance performance that was accompanied by the perfect music selected exclusively to complement the diverse and invigorating choreography.
Over the past couple of years, JATS has evolved into a known performing arts entity in the San Ramon Valley, with nine incredibly talented professional dancers that perform in unity seamlessly and beautifully under the direction of Co-Directors Lindsey and Debbie. This highly dedicated dance troupe aims for perfection and through significant effort and underlying talent, the dancers have reached a magical synergistic place that entertains and delights the audience.
