In 2017, the City of San Ramon Parks and Community Services Commission approved the Utility Box Public Art Pilot Program. The Utility Box Public Art Program awarded artists the opportunity to create art on City-owned Utility boxes.
The San Ramon Arts Foundation contributed funding to make this project possible. Parks and Community Services staff did a call for artist in 2018 that resulted in over 30 submissions, with five boxes being painted during the pilot program.
The pilot program was such a success that the Art Advisory Committee and the Parks and Community Services Commission approved an additional five boxes be painted in 2019.
Again, the San Ramon Arts Foundation supported this City-wide beautification project and with there funding made it happen. To view some of the painted projects please visit the City maintained web page by clicking here.
